Papadi Integrated Marketing appointed as Cell C Community football agency

Cell C have grown and extended their association with community football which has become a key strategy in the mobile operators mass market strategy. Papadi have developed a model that ensures Cell C maximum visibility and reach into selected target markets in townships around the country.

In December 2008 Cell C, via Papadi Integrated Marketing hosted and sponsored 3 large 2 week "community football" events in KwaZulu-Natal (Umlazi), Gauteng (Kwa Thema) and Free State (Mangaung). All in 900 games were run in various age group categories.

This Easters 2009 event see’s the introduction of four tournaments in Limpopo which takes the total tournaments sponsored to 16 in the initial phase. Limpopo joins Gauteng, Mpumalanga and KwaZulu-Natal in hosting tournaments from 10 – 13 April 2009.

Each province’s winners will participate in regional "Cell C Champ of Champs" in Soweto, Osizweni and Emalahleni.

Papadi were awarded the contract in 2007 and together with Cell C’s marketing department have developed the campaign into a large and sustainable event.

Papadi’s function is predominantly the event implementation, strategy, PR, budget reconciliations and co-ordination of various above the line elements including the print and TV partner.

Papadi also recently were awarded an informal sales contract and co-ordinate Cell C’s sales activities at the various venues.
